Colours are indeed the smiles of nature. The 'Colour Days ' celebration is a wonderful learning activity which helps children to sort and classify objects based on colours there by reinforcing cognitive skills. It becomes a scintillating day with innocent faces gleaming and reflecting brightness, joy, love and happiness. The kids understand the significance of the colours.

Annual Day
Annual Day is a day which is looked forward to with utmost anticipation and excitement. It is an occasion that spreads joy and serves as a platform for students to exhibit their unique talents and build their confidence. This day kindles the spirit of togetherness through which students showcase their talents despite the difficult times. PPSH(Pre-Primary) celebrated its first Virtual Annual Day on 28th January 2022 with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event was celebrated on a virtual platform due to the pandemic restrictions. This year for Annual Day there were three different themes for three different sections of Pre-Primary Dances of India, Cultures of India and “Utsav- Festivals of India” which was presented meticulously through a spectacular performance by the students of Nursery to Sr.kg. It was a memorable virtual event for PPSH (Preprimary) and for the learners which will be always remembered. The performances delivered a strong message to the audience

Chef Hat Making Activity
If there’s one thing kids love more than most ideas, it’s toddler crafts. A chef hat creation is a fun activity that allows the students to play make-believe with the finished product. They had fun while pasting papers along with it they learnt the importance of community helper “Chef “. It was a take away chef hat for them, they enjoyed wearing it.

Christmas Celebration
Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.” Christmas is the festival of joy and giving which inspires the spirit of sharing and caring. The essence of Christmas came alive in virtual classrooms at PPSH (PrePrimary) when the students and teachers got together and shared the merriment. The birth of Jesus Christ was celebrated in the true spirit with great festive fervor. Soaking in the spirit of celebration, teacher from Sr.Kg, Ms. Rutuja Badadhe dressed up as Santa Claus danced and filled the entire atmosphere of virtual classrooms with joy. Tiny tots dressed in their red and white attire with Santa cap on their head and excited for the fun to begin.. Few students sang carols and danced on happy songs to add joy and gleam to the atmosphere. Further, teachers made the celebration special for their children by organizing a variety of fun-filled activities like making Snow man with cotton.The boundless happiness of celebrating the festival was amply visible on the faces of the children. The day ended on a happy note with good wishes from the teachers imbibing the true message of Christmas – love, joy and goodwill to all

English Story Telling Activity
The school had organized Storytelling activity for the students during their online classes. These activities were a perfect avenue to explore when looking for ways to develop oral language skills. Also they helped to increase verbal proficiency and enhance listening skills. The children chose beautiful and unique stories. Few students came with their respective flash cards/props to narrate English stories with action effectively. It was a delight to see them all in their colourful attires and speak confidently with great ease and poise. Teachers appreciated and applauded the performance of the participants and the children enjoyed the activities.

Diya Painting and Diwali Celebration
"It is time to remove the darkness of ignorance within us and replace it with the light of hope and knowledge instead”. Diwali means rows of lighted lamps and happiness all around. The celebration of Diwali ‘The Festival of lights’ came alive at PPS School, when the little ones excitedly dressed up in the ethnic attire joined the Diwali celebration on a virtual platform. The students unfolded their creative abilities in a string of activities such as Diya painting, Dance party for the tiny tots, and lantern making. The teachers sensitized the students on ill effects of the burning crackers and urged them to celebrate the festival with candles, Diya’s, sweets and bring smiles to others faces by donating clothes and other gifts to needy people.
Clay Moulding Activity
You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have”. PPSH believes in learning by doing. A child learns better through creativity. Keeping this in mind virtual ‘Clay moulding’ activity for grade Nursery to Sr.KG students was organized during their online classes. Clay craft is a fun and interesting way to nurture a child's creativity, boost imagination, and to imbibe self-confidence.Teachers guided the students to make different objects related to academics with clay. They pounded, squeezed, rolled and blended the clay to make some unique and amazing objects like fish, roses, snowman, bird,,, butterfly etc. and showcased them virtually with pride.. This outstanding sensory activity enhanced their gross and fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, colour recognition and helped to boost the self-confidence of the students. The finished product at hand was a treasure to cherish for the young ones. The activity was indeed a great way to develop imagination and sparkle creativity to think out of the box!

Fancy Dress Activity
Fancy dress is of great benefit to children especially for toddlers and preschoolers and for children who are in the foundation years for building their imagination and vocabulary. Fancy dress play also encourages children to express their point of view of the world around them. It helps build both large and fine motor skills, decision making skills, encourages empathy and assists in the overall emotional development of children. This year being no exception, regardless of the limitations brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Junior.Kg section of PPSH virtually conducted a fancy dress activity, the theme being. My favourite Disney character in view of the numerous benefits of fancy dress play.

Joy of Giving
"There are a lot of things in the world that can make us smile but nothing beats the invaluable joy of making someone happy. "The preparation for the event started a few days prior. Students made beautiful ‘Thankyou’ cards for their loved ones. Teachers taught them songs and narrated the story related to the occasion. Teachers motivated their students to donate essentials for the needy people. Students learnt the value of giving and truly celebrated the joy of sharing.

Navratri Celebration
Navratri’, is one of the major and important festivals celebrated to worship the Goddess ‘Durga’. The Pre-primary of PPSH celebrated a virtual Navratri celebration with great enthusiasm and fun. ‘Students celebrated this festival in a very joyful manner and enjoyed class activity and also every moment by performing dance in garba style with teachers. The girls were dressed in the colourful ‘ghagra cholis’ and boys were dressed in the beautiful ‘kurta pajamas’, which was the theme for this event. The essence of the festivity was truly felt and celebrated by all in the true spirit of oneness

Role Play (Favourite Community Helper)
Alone we can do so little Together we can do so much. Teachers of the Jr.kg section had organised an activity on Community Helpers. The children brought different tools used by helpers and spoke a few lines on the duties performed by them. The excitement and curiosity of enacting as their favourite helper was clearly reflected on the faces of our little children. It was a great day with a lot of learning along with spreading awareness about our community helpers.

Favorite Play Time-Show and Tell Activity
Show and tell activity is a great way of expression. Students were very excited about this activity. Teachers had planned this activity to boost their confidence, improve their vocabulary and give them the opportunity to express their feelings with their peers virtually. It was a pleasure to see our tiny tots speaking and displaying their favourite toy, play time with happy faces. This Activity was well conducted and well enjoyed by all the students.

Toy Mela
Under the banner of EK BHARAT, SHRESHTHA BHARAT, an activity was organised named ‘Toy Mela’ in which the students of Pre-primary section participated with full enthusiasm and zeal. They made traditional Orissa toys with Clay, paper Mache, mud, wood and cloth. The main motive of this activity was to create awareness among the students about the custom and tradition followed in different states within the country. Students thoroughly enjoyed the activity and also understood and gained knowledge about the other states within the country.
